Summer Solstice Plein Air Painting Event!

Red Deer Arts Council is celebrating 50 years serving the community with a variety of arts and culture activities. The RDAC50 Committee is excited to present our first ever "Summer Solstice Plein Air Painting Event: Paint, Eat, Drum, and Connect" to be held at Kerry Wood Nature Centre and Gaetz Lake Sanctuary on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary is also turning 100 years old this year! This will be an all-day event to feature plein-air artists within the Sanctuary, an Art Show and Sale, followed by a BBQ supper and an evening of drumming by a campfire!

The public is invited to explore the sanctuary during the day and potentially chat with the artists at work, to come check out the Art Show & Sale from 5 - 8pm and to support the Red Deer Arts Council by bringing home a brand new painting by one of your favourite artists!
