Event Description

Wishing the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary a hoppy 100th birthday with craft beer tasting, live entertainment, silent auction, and more. Adults only.

In 1924 Caroline and John Gaetz deeded a sizable portion of their land to the Federal government to create Alberta's first Dominion Bird Sanctuary—The Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary. Today, their foresight provides the citizens of Red Deer with a remarkable natural haven, offering year-round enjoyment and appreciation.

Join us at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre on Friday, June 7 for an exclusive adults-only beer tasting fundraiser to celebrate Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary's 100th birthday.

There will be a wide selection of craft beer provided by local breweries and distilleries; food provided by the chef and students from École Notre Dame High School's culinary program; live music; a painter live-painting the Sanctuary's landscape on the Nature Centre's back deck; and a silent auction. At the end of the event, the attendees who purchased the first 100 tickets will receive a Troubled Monk Daycation beer can with a custom, limited-edition Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary label to take home.

Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this unique event. Purchase your tickets now and raise your glass to the preservation of our precious natural landscape! Cheers to 100 years!
